One day, I met someone at a party who introduced himself as a mudang—a spiritual healer or medium who practices traditional Korean shamanism. When I cautiously asked, “Can you see my future?”, he said that he could. I asked him various questions about my uncertain future. While looking at my face, he said that what we are going through is just a long process, and that we will eventually arrive somewhere. He added that I shouldn’t worry too much.
All youth are orphans. We are thrown into the world with no place to believe in. Where to go and what to do is entirely up to us. We often feel anxious about a future no one can solve. But at the same time, we easily forget that countless possibilities lie ahead of us. To commemorate the infinite steps we have yet to take, I took these photographs.
